Classrooms

BUMBLEBEES

The children in the bumblebee class range from age 2-1/2 to 3-1/2. With a lead Waldorf teacher and a part-time assistant, the maximum size of the class is held to 8 children. Their activity schedule is:

  • Monday: painting
  • Tuesday: coloring
  • Wednesday: bread baking
  • Thursday: modeling with beeswax
  • Friday: cleaning of the room’s cabinets, baseboards and furniture. The place mats are also washed in preparation for the next week.

BLUEBIRDS

The children in the bluebird class range from age 3 to 4-1/2. With a lead Waldorf teacher and second full-time teacher, this class may have from 12 to 16 children in attendance.  Their activity schedule is:

  • Monday: Coloring
    Tuesday: Painting
    Wednesday: bread baking
    Thursday: modeling with beeswax
    Friday: cleaning of the room’s cabinets, baseboards and furniture. The place mats are also washed in preparation for the next week.

GNOMES

The children in the gnome class range from age 4 to 6-1/2. With a lead Waldorf teacher and second full-time teacher, this class may have from 20-22 children in attendance.

  • Monday: Watercolor painting
  • Tuesday: Modeling with beeswax
  • Wednesday bread baking
  • Thursday: Coloring and bean bag games
  • Friday: Sewing or cooking

Morning Meadow Preschool & Kindergarten Teacher Qualifications

Lead Teachers are all fully trained and certified Waldorf early childhood instructors.  Our lead teachers have all attended one of the Waldorf training centers in North America.

Assistant Teachers have completed the 2 years of Waldorf foundation training as well as participated in many training lectures and workshops.

All teachers
• have completed the state required educational classes to work with children in a licensed facility.
• complete 10 hours of ongoing training yearly, as well as attend workshops in their field of early childhood education.
• are trained in CPR and first aid.
• maintain ongoing training to better develop themselves as teachers; and to gain understanding of child development as it relates to current research, Waldorf education and current societal changes.
